Visioning workshops wrap up

By AUBRIE GEORGE | The Marlton Telegram

The Evesham of the future has more trees, less traffic, ample parking and a lot of bike trails.

That’s according to a few of the suggestions from more than 200 residents and local business owners who gathered at the Gibson House last week for the second of two community visioning workshops.

The input gleaned from the meetings will help Evesham revisit the town’s master plan, which officials are required to do every six years.

Participants took several surveys prepared by the township and Looney, Ricks, Kiss — the planning, architecture and design firm recommended by the Marlton Economic Development Advisory Committee to lead participants through the workshops.

Sandy Student, chairman of the Marlton Economic Development Advisory Committee, said that 204 people attended last week’s workshop. About 117 people had attended the first visioning workshop on July 11.

“We had over 300 people and that normally never happens when we have a review of a master plan,” Student said.
