Representatives from PATCO Cares and the Samaritan Hospice in Marlton partnered together during Volunteer Appreciation Week earlier inĀ April.
The groups educated commuters about volunteering and hospice care with the help of Samaritan volunteers Barbara Shils, Joan Knisell, Ellie Peterson, Gwen Knight and Elaine Gross during the evening rush hour at the Woodcrest PATCO Station earlier this month. They were joined by PATCO Security Officer Maria Rodriguez, PATCO Cares Coordinator Heather Still, Samaritan Volunteer Coordinator Sharon Wenner, and Samaritan Volunteer Manager SallyĀ Cezo.
PATCOās community service program also included the placement of 2,500 postcards describing Samaritanās services and volunteer opportunities on all train seats leaving the Lindenwold Station for Philadelphia from 7 to 9 a.m. thatĀ day.
Samaritan Hospice is the regional leader for hospice care, palliative medicine, grief support and counseling, geriatric care management and end-of-life education and advocacy.
