A truckload of donations worth more than $1,200, collected through Burlington County College’s 10th annual Animal Shelter Drive, was recently delivered to the Burlington County Animal Shelter at the County Facilities Complex in Westampton.

“The incredible generosity of Burlington County College students and our community will help support the Burlington County Animal Shelter’s tireless efforts to care for homeless animals, reunite owners with their lost pets, and provide adoptable animals a chance for a new home,” said BCC President Paul Drayton. “I applaud the impact our students have on the community and the difference they are making in the lives of many, including our four-legged friends.”

“The entire Burlington County College community stepped up to assist our county’s effort to help animals find a permanent home,” said Freeholder Deputy Director Bruce Garganio, who serves as liaison to the shelter. “I hope that their generosity will inspire people to come out and adopt one of the many friendly dogs and cats and who need a good home.”

For the past month, BCC students, employees and community members have worked to collect donations to provide the shelter with some of its most-requested needs including pet medication, food, blankets, kitty litter, and other supplies.

“For the last decade, the Office of Student Activities has partnered with the Burlington County Animal Shelter for BCC’s annual Animal Shelter Drive,” said BCC Associate Dean of Student Activities and Campus Programs Cathy Briggs. “It continues to be one of our most successful drives.”
