Evesham man arrested for falsely reporting stolen car

The man originally reported that his 2007 Chevy was stolen from in front of his residence sometime between Sept. 11 and Sept. 18.

The following report is on file with the Evesham Township Police Department:

On Sept. 18, at 1:05 p.m., Evesham Police responded to the unit block of Normandy Road for a report of a resident’s vehicle that was stolen. Victim reported that his 2007 Chevy was stolen from in front of his residence sometime between Sept. 11 and Sept. 18.

During a follow up investigation by the Evesham Police Investigative Bureau it was determined that the vehicle was not stolen and the owner provided false information to officers.

Arrested:

A male, age 47, of Marlton, was charged with fourth-degree false reports to a law enforcement officer. He was released on own his own recognizance.
