Burlington County alerts residents of phone scam involving false claims of missed jury duty

Burlington County is reminding residents that enforcement of juror summonses is not conducted by telephone orĀ email.

Burlington County has been notified that residents have recently been receiving calls from individuals claiming to be from the Jury Management Office in Mt.Ā Holly.

According to the county, the individual in the calls states they are calling residents because they missed jury duty and owe aĀ fine.

Burlington County wishes to clarify that the countyā€™s Jury Management Office will never contact residents in thisĀ manner.

According to the county, enforcement of juror summonses is not conducted by telephone or email and will not involve requests for immediate payment by electronic means or pre-paidĀ cards.

For any residents who receive a request like this, the county asks that they immediately notify their local police department.
