Evesham Green Team to hold event teaching residents how to compost at home on May 30

Residents will learn how how to create compost for the garden, lawn, trees and house plants at their homes.

The Evesham Green Team will be hosting an event to teach residents how to create a compost pile for their homes on May 30 from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Evesham Library.

According to the Green Team’s advertisement of the event on the library’s website, the compost piles will serve as a way to provide a nutrient-rich soil amendment for gardens.

Those who attend the event will have the chance to learn easy ways to make a difference in less than 10 minutes a week, learn how to reduce the amount of household waste they generate by 25 percent or more and learn how they can create valuable compost for gardens, lawns, trees and house plants.

The class will cover topics such as where to put compost piles, how to get started, what to compost, how to do it, and how to harvest and use compost.

Optional worm composting and how to build-a -pile methods will be included.

The class will be led by Ann Wolf and other volunteers from the Evesham Green Team.

To register, visit the library’s website once registration is open at http://www.bcls.lib.nj.us/calendar/learn-how-compost-home.
