Through Sept. 30

The Medford Township Police Department H.A.P.P.Y. program, which is Helmets and Police Protecting Youth, brings the community Slices for Safety. The program will seek out general acts of safety and kindness throughout the community. Officers will provide a ticket for a free slice of pizza at Crust N Fire to those who display kindness and wear their bike helmets.

The Woman’s Club of Medford is hosting a 2024 Scarecrow Contest that will be held at 9 a.m., Oct. 5 at the Main Street gazebo. All entries will be on display until Thursday, Oct. 24. For more information contact [email protected].

Monday, Oct. 14

Pinelands Garden Club will meet at 9:30 a.m. at the Medford United Methodist Church, 2 Hartford Road, Medford.  The program will be “Composting:  Turning Waste into a Resource.” Visitors and new members are welcome.

Medford Arts Center announces its 2024 Annual Poetry Contests. High School students attending schools in Burlington County may submit up to three poems per entrant to [email protected] using “2024 High School Poetry Contest” in the subject line and including name, address, high school, grade and contact number. Residents of Burlington County over the age of 18 may submit up to three poems per entrant to [email protected] with “2024 Adult Poetry Contest” in the subject line, and including name, residential address and contact number. The Senior Group of Medford is introducing newcomers to the exhilarating sport of Pickleball during the months of September and October. This initiative aims to provide an inclusive and engaging opportunity for individuals aged 55 and older to learn and enjoy the game in a supportive environment. The sessions will include the basic fundamentals of Pickleball, ensuring that participants gain the necessary knowledge and skills to start playing confidently. No prior experience is required, making this event perfect for beginners eager to get in on the fun. No equipment and no cost is needed for this event – just bring your enthusiasm and a willingness to learn! Medford Township is offering businesses and residents an opportunity to sponsor new banners for Main Street. This project originated with the Woman’s Club of Medford in 2015. Now, after eight years of proudly being displayed, it’s time to replace them. Each banner will include the name of the sponsor and will be attached to the light poles along Main Street.
