Two playgrounds in Cherry Hill get a facelift
Two highly utilized Cherry Hill playgrounds received a facelift last week as part of an ongoing effort to preserve and enhance the township’s recreational facilities, Mayor Bernie Platt announced.
New equipment was installed at both the Kenilworth and Still Park playgrounds.
Still Park, on Merchant Street off of Chapel Avenue, is now home to a new interactive music panel display, and a child-size ladybug ride-on toy.
Kenilworth Park, at Kenilworth and Olive avenues, received a new swing set, as well as all new picnic tables and benches.
The equipment and installation was fully funded by the federal Community Development Block Grant program. In all, some $17,000 has been invested in the two facilities.
“Cherry Hill is home to 51 park facilities — and my goal as mayor is to make sure they are all well-maintained and contain quality equipment that can be enjoyed by residents of all ages,” Platt said.
“Both of these playgrounds are highly utilized by their respective neighborhoods, and as such, my administration felt both could truly benefit from these improvements. It is my hope the families in these areas will continue to enjoy both facilities for many, many years to come.”
