Garber, counsel with Flaster Greenberg PC, passed away at the age of 62.
Marc R. Garber, counsel with Flaster Greenberg PC in Cherry Hill, passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 21. He was 62. Garber was a member of Flaster Greenberg’s business and corporate and labor and employment departments. An accomplished business lawyer, he focused his practice on employee benefits law, executive compensation matters and ERISA litigation.
Garber joined Flaster Greenberg in 2002 after several years at two other large firms. He had more than 30 years of experience representing plan sponsors, trustees, professional fiduciaries, third-party administrators and investment advisors. His knowledge in this area of law was integral in handling the design, implementation and administration of retirement plans, fiduciary counseling, design and compliance of welfare plans, and use of ESOPs to provide exit strategies for founding shareholders of closely held businesses. His clients included professionals, early-stage development companies, publicly traded companies, financial institutions, professional fiduciaries and trust companies, investment advisors and third-party plan administrators.
Garber is a previous instructor at the Philadelphia Employee Benefits Institute and served as a member of the American Bar Association’s Employee Benefits Section. Throughout his legal career, he has written and presented on numerous topics including ESOPS, executive compensation, ERISA fiduciary consideration, pension reform, and ERISA investment products, among other topics.
“We lost a wonderful person this week,” said Alan H. Zuckerman, managing shareholder at Flaster Greenberg PC. “We were fortunate to have him as our colleague and friend for the past sixteen years. Marc will be truly missed.”

A graduate of Duquesne University School of Law in 1981, Garber earned his bachelor’s degree from Temple University in 1977.
Services were held on Sunday, Aug. 26, at Joseph Levine & Sons in Feasterville-Trevose, Pa.
