Democratic incumbents were victorious in races for the U.S. Senate, House of Representatives, the Camden County Board of Freeholders and Camden County Sheriff.

In the race for U.S. Senate, incumbent Democrat Bob Menendez earned 53.2 percent of the vote as he defeated Republican challenger Bob Hugin. Incumbent Democrat Donald Norcross won in a landslide in the New Jersey House of Representatives District 1 election, as he earned 63.4 percent of the vote in defeating Republican challenger Paul Dilks.

In the Camden County Board of Chosen Freeholders election, Democratic incumbents Jeffrey Nash, Susan Shin Angulo and William Moen Jr. all won re-election over Republican challengers Keith Cybulski, Vincent Squire and Clair Gustafson. The three Democrats combined to tally a little more than 68 percent of the vote. Democratic incumbent Gilbert L. “Whip” Wilson also won reelection easily in the race for Camden County sheriff, as he bested Republican Joseph Adolf. Wilson earned 69.4 percent of the vote.

Voters in New Jersey also approved a ballot question named the Securing Our Children’s Future Bond Act. The bond allows New Jersey to issue $500 million in bonds to provide grants to schools, school districts, county vocational schools and county colleges. A little more than 52 percent of voters in the state approved the bond question.

All of the vote totals are unofficial and do not include provisional ballots.
