Samaritan’s Via Lucis hospice program offers a team approach to end-of-life care with an emphasis on respect and sensitivity for Catholic sacraments, traditions and moral teachings. A committee comprised of religious and lay members of area parishes and the Dioceses of Camden and Trenton, offers insight into Samaritan’s outreach to the Catholic community.

Since becoming president and CEO in 2001, Boccolini has established Samaritan as the region’s most experienced provider of hospice care. She has also led the organization through the development of a diverse “family” of life-affirming services in addition to hospice care and grief support, including Palliative Medical Partners, Transitions, and extensive education for healthcare professionals and the community. In 2013, Samaritan launched New Jersey’s first Hospice-Palliative Fellowship program in collaboration with the Rowan University School of Osteopathic Medicine.
