Mantua is offering tips to residents on how to stay safe for the rest of summer, among them staying hydrated and wearing sunscreen. Other tips offered are:
- Keep an eye on kids: Children should be watched carefully whether swimming, playing at a park or just being in the heat.
- Heat safety: Avoid overly strenuous activities during the hottest parts of the day, typically from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wear light-colored, loose-fitting clothing and take frequent breaks in the shade or indoors.
- Be cautious with hot surfaces: Pavement, sand and car seats can become extremely hot in the summer sun, potentially causing burns. Wear appropriate footwear and use towels or covers to protect skin from hot surfaces.
