Voters in Shamong, Southampton and Tabernacle went to the polls June 4 to choose candidates to run for an array of municipal and state offices in the Democratic and Republican primaries.
Two seats are available for township committee in Shamong, Southampton and Tabernacle.
Shamong
Three candidates ran for the two seats in the Republican primary. Incumbents Brian Woods and David Diamond received 275 and 236 votes, respectively. Christopher Zehnder has received 116 votes.
There were no petitions filed in the Democratic primary.
Southampton
Two candidates ran for two seats in the uncontested Republican primary. Incumbent William Raftery received 968 votes and Ronald Heston received 943 votes. No petitions were filed in the Democratic primary.
Tabernacle
Four candidates ran for two seats in the Republican primary.
David Oiler, with 644 votes and Joseph Barton with 638 votes are winning over incumbents Samuel R. Moore III, who has received 252 votes and Mark Hartman, who has received 242 votes.
Hartman and Moore currently serve on the committee as mayor and committeeman, respectively. No petitions were filed in the Democratic primary.
The results listed here reflect what has been posted online by the Burlington County Clerk’s Office as of June 5. The results of the election will remain unofficial until they are certified.
The general election is Nov. 5 election.
