Mantua: Primary election

Voters in Mantua Township went to the polls June 4 to choose candidates to run for an array of municipal and state offices in the Democratic and Republican primaries.

Two candidates ran for the two open seats in the Republican primary. Courtney Bracken received 220 votes of 440 and Kristin Goschler received 216 votes. The remaining four votes went to write-in candidates.

On the Democratic side, incumbent candidate and Mayor Robert Zimmerman received 676 votes out of 1,352 while newcomer Jason Syder received 664 votes. There were 12 write-in votes.

The results listed here reflect what has been posted online by the Gloucester County Clerk’s Office as of June 5. The results of the election will remain unofficial until they are certified.

Bracken and Goschler will face off against Zimmerman and Snyder in the Nov. 5 general election.
