NJ American Water to begin major project in Haddonfield

On Tuesday, May 28, NJ American Water will begin replacing the sewer and water mains on Ellis Street in Haddonfield. This project is expected to take several months to complete as it will work in phases from Ellis Street to Marne Avenue. Work hours will run from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Next week, from Tuesday, May 28 to Friday, May 31 there will be a full road closure between Potter Street and Kings Highway East.

“This is a major project that will disrupt the flow of traffic until the end of the summer,” said Commissioner Al Dyer, liaison to the Department of Public Works. “We will keep the public updated on the weekly road closures and we are advising the residents plan alternate routes to avoid delays. And remember, whenever you are near a work zone slow down and pay attention to debris and crew members.”

The Camden County Department of Public Works is responsible for maintaining over 1,200 miles of county roadway and 50 bridges.  They are dedicated to making our area safer for motorists and pedestrians through county highway construction projects and road maintenance, including pothole repairs, street sweeping, grass cutting and storm drainage upkeep. The Public Works Department is located in Lindenwold where personnel are on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to serve the residents of Camden County.
