Deputy Mayor Moore introduces fire district’s first ever full-time firefighter

I’m excited to share with you a significant moment for our fire district. Just last month, the Harrison Township Board of Fire Commissioners voted unanimously to hire Chris Conley as the very first full-time firefighter. This decision marks a historic milestone for our fire district and demonstrates the commitment of the fire commissioners and District Chief Matthew Cardile to prioritize public safety and enhance fire services.

Firefighter Conley is no stranger to our community, having served part-time with the Harrison Township Fire District since 2021. Over the years, Chris has brought invaluable experience and unwavering dedication to his role, but most importantly, passion for our community. I am thrilled to welcome Chris to the Harrison Township family. There is no doubt that Chris will flourish and continue to make a significant impact on our community as a full-time firefighter.

I would also like to express my gratitude to all the volunteer firefighters who selflessly take time from their families and personal life to protect and serve our community each day. As a volunteer firefighter myself, I know firsthand the experience of leaving the dinner table or waking up at 2 a.m. to respond to emergency calls. Congratulations to Chris Conley and the entire Harrison Township Fire District on this significant achievement.
