A new app for Cherry Hill launched earlier this month is helping residents stay up to date on township events and allows for more direct communication with residents.
“We’ve taken a critical look at all of our means of communication including the weekly mayor’s message,” explained Mayor David Fleisher. “The goal was for everything to be just a click away for our residents. The thought process is we want to meet residents where they are, whenever and however they need to interact with the township.”
The website was redesigned as of April 8 to accommodate more storefronts and so residents can find commonly sought information more quickly. They can also opt in to notifications.
“It’s a new level of customization, so people are able to decide what kind of notifications and alerts they want,” Fleisher said. “It could range from information on township events, public safety, traffic, or updates on municipal services.”
In addition to receiving alerts and news, residents who make an account can also use the app to report concerns. The township has also refreshed its social media and redesigned the weekly newsletter.
