Cherry Hill East boys tennis came up short in the South Jersey Group IV finals against Lenape on Tuesday.
Cherry Hill High School East boys volleyball was victorious in its opening round match in the South Jersey playoffs on Tuesday. The Cougars came from behind to win a tight match over Toms River South, 2–1.
Cherry Hill East lost the first set, 26–24, but came from behind to sweep the match’s final two sets. Mike Monczewski’s 13 kills helped boost the Cougars to the victory.
Cherry Hill East will hit the road in the sectional quarterfinals as they will take on Kingsway Regional High School on Thursday.
Cherry Hill East boys tennis falls in S.J. Group IVÂ final
Cherry Hill East boys tennis came up just short of a sectional title on Tuesday afternoon as they lost to Lenape High School, 3–2, in the South Jersey Group IV championship match at the Cherry Hill Health and Racquet Club.
Adam Yu at second singles and Kevin Hu and Jeffrey Xi at first doubles earned points for Cherry Hill East. The match was tied, 2–2, when Lenape’s Sreejith Nair won a three-set match at third singles to clinch the title for Lenape.
Cherry Hill West baseball postponed again
Cherry Hill West baseball will try to open up its postseason a third time on Wednesday after its opening round playoff game was postponed for a second straight day on Tuesday.
The Lions’ game against Ocean City was postponed on Tuesday due to poor field conditions. The game will be played this afternoon at Cherry Hill West beginning at 3:45 p.m.
