Marlton residents headed to the polls on Nov. 7

Township’s board of education elects two new members, one incumbent.

Voters in Evesham Township went to the polls on Nov. 7 and unofficially elected members of the board of education.

The Burlington County Clerk’s Office has posted results from the election on its website, all of which are unofficial and will remain so until a vote-counting process that could take more than a week to complete.

The totals as of Nov. 10 do not include late mail-in and provisional ballots, expected to be tallied later this week.

Running for her third three-year term on the board, Janis Knoll leads with 6,387 votes. Jaron Brown, seeking his first term on the board, followed with 5,741 votes and Aiden DeMarsey, also running for a first term, got 5,480.

Candidate Anthony Foster received 4,706 votes and Flora Talmazan earned 4,284. There were 155 personal-choice votes cast.

For the Lenape Regional Board of Education, Barry J. Fitzgerald will serve as the Evesham Township representative. He ran uncontested for one seat, earning 9,525 votes. There are 85 personal choice votes.

The township also added two questions to the ballot. The first involved tuition-free, full-day kindergarten. There are 6,807 yes votes and 5,413 no votes. The second question asked voters if they want the school district to raise $190,000 to provide mental-health services for elementary- and middle-school students in the 2023-‘24 school year. There are 7,958 yes votes and 4,244 no votes.
