Burlington County to begin road resurfacing work

Burlington County plans to begin resurfacing sections of Wrightstown-Cookstown Road and Browns Mills-Cookstown Road next week as part of its State Funded Overlay Program.

Pavement milling and overlay work on 2.6 miles of the Wrightstown-Cookstown Road, also known as County Route 616 and Main Street/Cookstown-New Egypt Road), between Norlain Drive in New Hanover and the Burlington-Ocean County border in North Hanover. A 0.7-mile section of Browns Mills-Cookstown Road (County Route 667), between Wrightstown-Cookstown Road and the Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst will also be milled and repaved.

Work on both highways is scheduled to begin on Wednesday, Sept. 27, and take about three weeks to complete.

The work is expected to be done during night hours and traffic will be maintained through the work areas. Motorists using the road will likely experience delays and are advised to seek alternative routes.
