At Shawnee High School’s 55th commencement on June 16, Patrick Ryan received one of two Principal Awards.

Principal Matthew Campbell welcomed the Class of 2023, their friends and families. Class President Patrick Ryan, Valedictorian Michael Haussman and Salutatorian Isabella Christianson also addressed the graduates.

Prior to the ceremony, Ryan, one of two students to win the Principal’s Award, reflected on his time at the school.

Patrick Ryan
  1. Tell me about your time at Shawnee High School.

At Shawnee, I run track and cross country, participate in Model United Nations and DECA, and lead our class council.

2. What are you going to miss about your time in high school?

What I am going to miss most is being able to see my friends every day in class.

3.  What are your plans for the fall, next year?

Next year, I will be attending the College of the Holy Cross and studying political science. I plan to be active in their student government, newspaper, and a cappella groups.
