The Community House of Moorestown’s fifth annual Giving and Greens for the House golf outing will be held at the Riverton Country Club on Monday, July 17.
“People (golfers) love this event, because just like the Community House, this is a community golfing event,” said Sheree Lantz, member of the Community House board of trustees, of an event that was started by Moorestown resident Chris Daloisio.
Registration begins at 10:30 a.m. and includes golf, cart setup, bag drop services and an 11 a.m. lunch. Shotgun start is noon. Golfers and non-golfers will have a chance to mix and mingle at 5 p.m.
“It’s a really warm, cozy, golf outing event and really good golfers who might have an opportunity to play that day at another golf course choose to come to our (outing) because it’s such a fun, wonderful event,” Lantz said.
Admission for non-golfing supporters is $55. Tickets for a 50/50 can be purchased at the Community House, Moorestown Hardware and Ralph’s Market on Main Street. Residents have a chance to win up to $5,000, and they do not need to be present to win. All proceeds from the event benefit Community House.
“Although it’s not being held at the Community House, (the outing) certainly has a community feel,” Lantz noted. “There are times where you’re only seeing people who are coming to Moorestown for meetings and such, but this is people who don’t get to the Community House for meetings, this is people who make it a point to come for the golf outing.”

Earlier this year it was announced that the Community House, – a nonprofit whose mission is to strengthen the community by providing a gathering place for individuals, families and organizations – is the recipient of a 2022 Historic Site Management matching grant from the New Jersey Historic Trust.
The $34,163 grant is a first for the Community House and will be used for a preservation plan by Westfield Architects in Haddon Heights to address the facility’s physical condition and maintenance. The firm will then make recommendations for ongoing maintenance and the Community House can apply for capital grants to address the issues.
Lantz wants Moorestown residents and residents from neighboring towns to know that the Community House is their home.
“It’s open to everybody, no matter what your age is,” she emphasized. “It doesn’t matter who you are, it’s your home.”
