Moorestown High School teacher Valerie Oswald-Love has been named a National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) Summer Scholar who will attend one of 35 tuition-free summer seminars and institutes supported by the federal organization.
Each summer, NEH supports enrichment opportunities at colleges, universities and cultural institutions so teachers can study with experts in the humanities.
Oswald-Love will participate in the Summer Institute’s Tales from the Chihuahuan Desert: Borderlands Narratives about Identity and Binationalism, a two-week, residential program that will be held during the weeks of Sunday, July 16, and Sunday, July 30, at the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP).
The 24 teachers selected to participate in the program each receive a stipend of $2,200 to cover travel, study, and living expenses and meet eligibility criteria outlined by the NEH.
