Wednesday, May 24

Planning Board meeting will be held at 7 p.m. at the Public Safety Building, 91 Union St.

Thursday, May 25

Lenape High School will host the Spring Art Show – Art, Photography, and Fashion – from 6-8 p.m. May 25, in the north gym at the high school, 235 Hartford Road, Medford. Students will showcase their talents; paintings, sculptures, ceramics, photography, graphic design, clothing and more will be on display.

Deadline May 26

The Medford Township Police Department is hosting a week-long Junior Police Academy Day Camp, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. daily, from July 10-14. The purpose of the Junior Police Academy for kids ages 11-14 is to provide young citizens with an introduction to law enforcement.

Saturday, May 27

Medford VFW Post 7677 is planning to perform memorial services at each of the three Medford Township cemeteries east of Main Street (Family Ministry at Branch and Filbert Streets, the Baptist Cemetery and the Odd Fellows Cemetery) in the usual sequence, commencing at noon.

Monday, May 29

The Medford Township Council and Medford VFW Post 7677 are pleased to announce that they will hold Medford’s annual Memorial Day Parade and Observances on Monday beginning at 11 a.m.

Grand Marshall of the parade is William J. Dorman, a U.S. Air Force veteran.

The parade will start at Allen School on Allen Avenue near Union Street, and proceed east to South Main Street.  The Parade will turn left onto South Main Street; stopping briefly at the War Memorials adjacent to the Medford Memorial Community Center at 26 South Main St. to raise the flag, present a wreath and offer a 21-gun salute.

The parade will then re-start and continue north, turning left on Union Street. The parade concludes in Freedom Park at 86 Union St. The ceremony will start immediately at the conclusion of the parade in Freedom Park.

Thursday, June 1

Shawnee High School proudly presents its Spring Choral and Instrumental Concert Line-Up. The Instrumental and Choral concerts are free to attend and take place in the Shawnee High School Auditorium, 600 Tabernacle Road, Medford.

The “Spring Choral Concert” will be held at 7 p.m. May 23 and the “Instrumental Music Spring Concert” and 7 p.m. June 1.

The Medford Township Council is seeking an interested resident to fill an unexpired term on the Medford Planning Board. The Planning Board meets on the fourth Wednesday of every month at the Public Safety Building. Meetings start at 7 p.m., unless otherwise discussed by the board.

Applications are to be submitted to the attention of Dawn Bielec, Deputy Clerk, no later than noon on June 2. Applications will be accepted via USPS Mail, in-person delivery, or via email.

Saturday, June 3

Theodore (Ted) Nichols, winner of the Preservation Alliance’s prestigious James Biddle Award, will be speaking at Medford Quaker Meeting on the work he and Jack Abgott have done to save historically important buildings in our region. at 1:30 p.m. June 3. Specifically, he will talk about:

  • The Judges Shack – a rare surviving example of an historic fishing shack in Island Beach State Park.
  • The Peter Mott House – an Underground Railroad stop in Lawnside.
  • The Champion School – the first public school in Old Gloucester County, erected by Quakers in 1821.

The talk is free and open to the public and there is plenty of free parking onsite. Childcare will also be provided.  Medford Quaker Meeting is located at 14 Union Street in Medford.

Thursday, June 15

Third Thursday Food Trucks on Main Street returns from 5-9 p.m. Next date June 15.

Participating food trucks include Brotherly Love Cheesesteak Spring Roll Co., Cousin’s Maine Lobster, Dan Waffle’s, Empanada Beast, Fit Chicks, Jeremiah’s Custom Cuisine, Just Fork It, Latin Bites, Matty G Dogz, Moocheeze, Pirate Pete’s Soda Pop Company, The Munchy Machine, The Traveling Tomato, and Twisted Steaks.

Helping Hand Grief Support meets Mondays at Fellowship Alliance Chapel from 7-9 p.m. Meetings are hybrid with in-person at our church facility, and via Zoom Communications at the same time. Additional information can be found at: http://helpinghandgriefsupport.org or email: [email protected].

Medford Township is offering a limited number of garden plots in Freedom Park. Each plot is approximately 25’ x 25’, but due to the large demand, plots can be divided into halves and quarters for those who prefer a smaller plot. For more information on the garden plot program, contact the Manager’s Office at 609-654-2608 x330.
