Field of Honor returns to Freedom Park

Rotarians and community volunteers in Medford will place 325 full-size American flags with medallions on 7.5-foot flag poles in Freedom Park for the week-long Field of Honor beginning Friday, May 26 in perfectly symmetrical rows.

The Medford Sunrise Rotary organizes the tribute during the week of Memorial Day each year to honor all those who served in the military and continue to support their communities. The practice began in 2019.

Since then, hundreds of people have sponsored a flag in the name of those they want to recognize as having exhibited “service above self.” Each full-size American flag is sponsored by a resident, business or Rotary club. Honorees have included family members and first responders.

Freedom Park is located at 86 Union St., Medford. For more info, visit https://burlcofieldofhonor.com/.
