A tree lighting will culminate the opening of the festival at 6:30 p.m. thisĀ evening.
Winterfest will officially open at Cooper River Park in Cherry Hill tonight. A grand opening ceremony for ice rink will take place at 6:30 p.m. thisĀ evening.
āWe are opening Winterfest with a tree lighting ceremony, amusement rides, carolers, give-a-ways and more,ā said Freeholder Jeff Nash, liaison to the Camden County Parks Department. āThis year, weāve added more family activities with arcade games in the heated tent and outdoor games for you to enjoy when you are off theĀ ice.ā
The 60 foot by 120-foot ice rink has a new location this year. at the corner of North Park Drive and Cuthbert Boulevard across from the Crowne Plaza Hotel. The surrounding park has been transformed into a winter wonderland with twinkling lights in the trees, and vendors selling soft pretzels, hot chocolate and otherĀ treats.
Winterfest will be open Thursdays from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., Fridays from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m., Saturday from noon to 10 p.m., and Sundays from noon to 9 p.m. Children 4 years of age and younger will be admitted onto the ice for free. Kids 5 to 12 will be admitted for $4 and adult admission is $6. Veterans and seniors will receive a discounted admission of $4. There is a $4 skate rental fee for allĀ ages.
