The Cinnaminson Elementary Home & School Association brought back Winterfest earlier this month on Dec. 10.
The 24th annual event was held at the township middle school from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., and was the first Winterfest since the pandemic.
“It should be a good time,” said the association’s event chair, Diana Rodgers. “I’m hoping for a really good turnout …We’ve had a lot of excitement, a lot of engagement. I can’t tell you how surprised I am at the amount of people who have wanted to help out and/or volunteer.”
There has been a lot of planning and discussion around Winterfest in the past few years. Rodgers and her team – including volunteers – are in charge of the event for the first time, and they are getting advice from past planners.
“We don’t necessarily have that level of experience from the previous (home and school association) group,” Rodgers acknowledged. “This is our first time putting on the event, piecing it together from the notes and resources that were available and phone conversations from others that were involved in the past.”
Winterfest included food and crafts vendors, kids activities and a visit from Santa.
Previous versions of the event have attracted hundreds of people. As for this year, the association’s Facebook page showed more than 400 people interested.
“We’ve prepared ourselves for the amount of people expected to come this year,” Rodgers noted. “I hope the layout is conducive to a good flow of people being able to walk through.”
