Cinnaminson festival hopes to repeat last year’s success

Sponsored by police, October event was rebranded for 2022

October in Cinnaminson Township brings with it the return of a favorite event: the annual fall festival.

Originally known as Cinnaminson Day, the free event was rebranded by the township to  better encapsulate the season and include local community groups and businesses. It is sponsored by the township police department.

This year’s festival will take place on Oct. 8 at Wood Park and will feature food trucks, activities and fireworks, according to Township Administrator Eric Schubiger, as well as appearances by the township fire and police departments and live musical performances from the School of Rock in Cherry Hill and the group Drop Dead Sexy.

There will also be a beer garden set up by Cherry Hill’s Mechanical Brewery, a microbrewery that focuses on conscientiously constructed and custom-designed handcrafted beer. It has been a mainstay in South Jersey since it opened in 2007.

Last year’s festival was deemed a great success, something the township hopes to replicate this year with bigger crowds and more revenue. Vendors and nonprofits will also be represented.

“Township officials have been meeting to coordinate plans for the township’s largest annual special event, which expects several hundred area residents,” Schubiger said. Many area businesses and organizations have already pledged their participation.”

Wood Park is located on Riverton Road. Festival hours are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., with a fireworks show at dusk. Wood Park is located on Riverton Road. So far, no rain date has been set and registration is not required.
