Fasola Park will host Deptford Township’s annual food truck festival on Saturday, Aug. 27, the town’s biggest and longest festival of the summer.

According to Mayor Paul Medany, there will be seven food trucks at the festival serving a variety of cuisines at what will be the last major festival for the summer in Deptford.

“Usually there are sandwiches, burgers and hot dogs,” said Medany. “The Boy Scouts will be there with their funnel cakes. People love them.“It’s a great selection of food,” he added. “We work with the county, and they provide a band with a stage.”

The band performing at the event will be Pure Petty, a classic rock group that does covers of songs by Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers to pay tribute to the singer, who died in 2017. The group will perform from 1:30 to 3 p.m., according to its Facebook page.

Medany and other township officials will also be at the event for attendees to meet and get a feel for who they are as people.

“Everybody will be there,” the mayor said.

Also, part of the food truck festival will be a balloon artist, a beer garden and games for the whole family to enjoy as kids make the most of their summer vacation as it draws to a close. The festival will be the last event before Labor Day a week later.

The food truck festival is free, and no registration is required. Hours will be noon to 5 p.m. For questions or more information, call the township at (856) 845-5300 and check Deptford’s website and Facebook page.
