Jonathan S. Akins of Haddonfield passed away on Feb. 23 at the age of 36.

Jonathan S. Akins of Haddonfield passed away on Feb. 23 at the age of 36. He was the beloved husband of Nancy Potter; adoring father of Oliver and Theodore Potter Akins; devoted son of Gary and Suzy Akins of Keller, TX; Cherished twin of Ryan (Emily) Akins; loving son-in-law of Alan and Michelle Potter; dear brother-in-law of Duke Potter, Francis Potter and Natasha (Brandon) Lavato; treasured uncle of Oscar Akins, Lula Akins and Austin Lavato; precious grandson of Betty Jones, Julia Potter, MaryAnn (Bennie) Woolley.
Jon was an inspiring professor at Widener University and an accomplished scientist. He started a robotics league for underserved youth in Chester, PA.
Jon’s family and friends are invited to his Memorial Mass, Friday March 2 at 1 p.m. at Christ the King RC Church, 200 Windsor Ave, Haddonfield, NJ 08033; where the family will receive friends following Mass. Interment is private. In lieu of flowers, contributions to Olie and Teddy’s education fund may be made to: “Oliver and Theodore’s Education Fund” c/o TD Bank, 100 North Haddon Avenue, Haddonfield, NJ 08033.
