The Gloucester County Fire Academy firefighter I program is set to start on Thursday, Aug. 18 with orientation at 7 p.m. with registration happening at Rowan College of South Jersey in Clarksboro. With classes running on different days between Aug. 19 to Dec. 18, the Firefighter I program meets on some Saturdays and Sundays at 7:45 a.m. and some Monday and Wednesday nights at 6:45 p.m. Students must be 18 years of age prior to do the first live fire exercise (October 31, 2022), be a member of a fire company, department or brigade, provide proof of enrollment in the organization’s respiratory protection program and proof of physical fitness. Students must be equipped with gear that meets all applicable standards & regulations. Proof of physical fitness must be submitted at time of registration.
