Police report

The following items were taken from reports on file with the Haddonfield Police Department:

A Kings Highway East pharmacy employee reported to police on March 1 at 2:32 p.m. that a white male wearing blue jeans and a hooded sweatshirt shoplifted $204 of over-the-counter medicine.

An employee confronted the man, who dropped the basket of merchandise and fled from the rear of the store. Officers checked the area and did not find the suspect.

A Haddonfield Memorial High School student reported to police on Feb. 23 at 10:55 a.m. that his $200 iPod Touch had been stolen during his gym period on Feb. 18.

The student said his locker was not locked during the class. He could not provide police with the serial number of the iPod.

A Haddon Avenue pharmacy employee reported to police on Feb. 23 at 3:42 p.m. that a man was shoplifting from the store.

Earlier in the day the suspect had been in the store, the employee said. The suspect shoplifted 12 boxes of Pepcid Complete and ran from the store, triggering the alarm. The stolen merchandise totaled $171.

The suspect returned to the store at 3:42 p.m. and again tried to steal merchandise. The employee called the police and confronted the suspect, who fled the store on a bike with no merchandise.

Fifteen minutes later, a Kings Highway East pharmacy employee contacted police and an officer saw the same suspect, who fit the description, at the store. He confronted the suspect and found he had three boxes of Zantac, a Pepcid Complete, and two Centrum Vitamin bottles on his person.

The 33-year-old Camden male was arrested and charged with shoplifting. He was transported to headquarters, processed, and released.

A Lane of Acres resident reported to police on Feb. 23 at 3:27 p.m. and said a light fixture had been broken at the end of his driveway.

The resident said the incident occurred overnight and was one of many incidents at his property. Earlier his mailbox had been ripped out of his front yard and there had been an attempted break in. There are no suspects in the case.

A caller reported to police on Feb. 25 at 10:21 a.m. that the Crows Wood’s pavilion had been vandalized.

Three metal handrails and two stainless steel covers of a hand dryer were stolen from the pavilion’s bathroom.

A Wood Lane Avenue resident reported to police on Feb. 27 at 8:58 p.m. that she saw a male exiting from a basement window of her home.

The resident said an hour earlier her dog had started barking uncontrollably. Her husband was in the shower and the resident checked out of the front door several times, as the dog usually barks when someone is in the front yard. The resident said on the third check she saw a male climbing out of her basement window and she immediately called the police as the man fled. An officer arrived at the scene and processed the yard, seeing foot prints in the snow leading to and from the window. A Cherry Hill K-9 unit came to the scene and the dog was able to follow the trail to a nearby yard, at which point the officers found the suspect laying face up on the ground behind several bushes.

The footprints at the scene were processed and pictures were taken. He was handcuffed and transported back to the scene, where the resident positively identified the suspect. The suspect was brought to a police car and an officer noted that he smelled of alcohol and was acting very impaired. He was taken to headquarters and was found that he had a superficial scratch on his leg.

He was transported by Haddonfield Ambulance to JFK Hospital in Cherry Hill. After he was treated, he told an officer that he didn’t remember much of anything from the night before.

After he was treated, the suspect was remanded to the Camden County Correctional Facility in lieu of $10,000 bail. He was charged with burglary.
