Garrett, who grew up in Haddonfield, died Aug. 11
Edward K. Garrett III, 89, who grew up in Haddonfield and graduated from Haddonfield Memorial High School, died peacefully in his home Aug. 11 surrounded by his family. Garrett, known as “Bud,” was the beloved husband of 21 years to Nadine Crockett Garrett.
He is predeceased by his first wife of 41 years, Dorothy. He is survived by his three children Susan (Randy), Don (Cheryl), and Nancy (Bernie); two stepchildren Jeff (Heather) and Greg (Annette); 11 grandchildren Chris (Jen), Mandy, Jen (Chris), Erika (Frank), Nathan, Jenna, Kelsey, Alexa, Justin, Derek and Josie; five great-grandchildren Levi, Eden, Kolby, Kanai and Kaya; his brother Dick (Gladys) and sister (Doris) and many loving nieces and nephews.
Garrett was division vice president of finance for RCA’s Solid State Division for many years. He was on the board of trustees at Raritan Valley Community College and an active member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Southern Pines for many years. He loved playing golf and prided himself on keeping a well-manicured lawn and garden.
A service for Garrett was scheduled for Friday, Aug. 17, and internment was planned for Locustwood Cemetery in Cherry Hill. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in his honor may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
