Over winter break, students from across Cherry Hill Public Schools gathered together to create paper crafts and a LEGO window display for Lunar New Year at Sharp Elementary School. The display features a large door in the shape of a tiger’s head, a golden doorframe presenting a vivid red double-door beset with golden studs in the Chinese style, the school’s mascot, the bulldog, wearing a tiger hat and more to celebrate the Year of the Tiger.Â
The display also features a mini-LEGO structures built by students in the centerpiece depicting various traditions for the new year celebrations including a family eating their reunion dinner the day before the new year, a large dragon and lion puppeteered in the traditional dance, people playing winter sports, and a lively Chinese market street.Â
The display will remain at Sharp until mid-February when it will be displayed again at the second floor of the Cherry Hill Public Library.Â
