Find your furr-ever friend at GCAS this Valentine’s Day

An approved application is not required to walk through the kennel, but it is encouraged to fill an application out prior to arrival

Director Frank J. DiMarco has announced that the Gloucester County Board of Commissioners will sponsor free adoptions beginning Feb. 11 through Feb. 15 at the Gloucester County Animal Shelter.

Director Frank J. DiMarco said, “Even our animals are looking for their special someone on Valentine’s Day. We have plenty of great animals looking for their forever homes and we’re hoping this event helps connect some residents with animals that just need a little extra love this Valentine’s Day.”

Director DiMarco is liaison to the Gloucester County Animal Shelter and says that the shelter is hoping to find the animals at the shelter great homes.

“On a day made to celebrate loved ones and promote love, we encourage residents to extend that love to the animals in our shelter who have plenty of love to give,” he added. Director DiMarco stopped by the shelter to meet some of the animals available for adoption.

Adoption hours at the shelter are:

Monday: 8 a.m. ­to 4 p.m.
Tuesday: 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Wednesday: 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Thursday: 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Friday: 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Saturday: 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Sunday­: CLOSED

An approved application is not required to walk through the kennel, but it is encouraged to fill an application out prior to arrival just in case you would like to meet an animal available for adoption. Fill out the pre-adoption application on the website gloucestercountynj.gov/FormCenter/Animal-Shelter-5/PreAdoption-Application-50.
