The Gloucester County Animal Shelter’s kennel is full of animals looking for their forever homes.

“We have a lot of dogs at the shelter patiently waiting for homes. There’s a match for everyone,” said Director Frank J. DiMarco. “We are committed to finding each animal their perfect home. We will always prioritize the well-being of the animals when finding their forever families.”

Director DiMarco is liaison to the shelter and would like to remind residents that adoption fees remain only $35 for dogs and cats five years and younger. Fees for animals six years and older is waived.

“It’s never been more affordable to adopt at the Gloucester County Animal Shelter,” said DiMarco.

The shelter’s adoption department is open Tuesday through Thursday from noon to 7 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from noon to 4 p.m. An approved application is not required to walk through the kennel, but we do encourage you to fill an application out prior to arrival just in case you would like to meet an animal available for adoption.

Adoption includes spaying, neutering, all age-appropriate vaccines and dogs are heartworm tested and microchipped.

The shelter is always accepting volunteer applications to help care for the animals. Individuals interested in volunteering at GCAS can find an application here: gloucestercountynj.gov/233/Volunteers-Fostering
