Grab your pom-poms and come to the stadium at Haddonfield Memorial High School on Wednesday, Nov. 16 for the 4th Annual HMHS LEO Club Powder Puff Football Game. This fundraising, and fun-filled, event is hosted by the student branch of the local Lions Club and pits a team of high school junior girls against a team of senior girls,
Kickoff is at 7 p.m. Tickets are $5 each and can be purchased at the door.
LEO Club Advisor Christa Wesley says that the girls are really excited about the event.
“We added an inter-grade punt/pass/kick contest to the halftime activities to kick off Spirit Week at the high school. And all of the girls have been practicing really hard for the game,” Wesley said.
Although this has always been a successful event, Wesley says they hope to raise even more money this year. All proceeds benefit the Adam Taliaferro Foundation, an organization that provides support to student athletes who suffer catastrophic head or spinal injuries in team events in the tri-state region.
As in previous years, Chick-Fil-A will be there, selling chicken sandwiches and nuggets, waffle fries, iced tea and hot chocolate. Water and snacks will also be available for purchase. And the Chick-Fil-A cow — and, of course, the Haddonfield Bulldog — will make an appearance.
