The Tabernacle Republicans look ahead in township election

Tabernacle Republicans Samuel Moore III, and Matthew Baals are currently leading the uncontested election for the two open seats with Tabernacle Township Committee in this year’s election, according to unofficial results from the Burlington County Office of Elections.

Moore currently stands with 2,209 votes at 50.9 percent of the vote and Baals with 2,107 at 48.55 percent.

For the three open seats available with the Tabernacle Township Public Schools Board of Education, Stephen J. Henske Jr, is leading with 1,292 votes with 26.01 percent. Dean Dodaro and Erica Vining have received 25.87 and 24.50 percent of the vote, respectively, while Jen Lee sits with 22.69 percent of the vote on the outside.

The race for the governorship of New Jersey was not officially decided as of deadline, but incumbent Gov. Phil Murphy appears headed for the top job in Trenton once more, fending off a challenge from GOP counterpart Jack Ciattarelli. In Burlington County specifically, with 361 of 365 precincts reporting, Murphy holds a lead of approximately 7.500 votes over Ciattarelli. Murphy would become the first Democrat to be sent back to the state capitol by voters since Brendan Byrne in 1977.
