The 2021-’22 Military Friendly School designation came late last month from VIQTORY, a recruitment marketing company in Pittsburgh that promotes opportunities for veterans to enhance and improve their everyday lives.

“It is an honor to assist New Jersey veterans who have served their country with such dedication and selflessness, as they now use their hard-earned educational benefits to pursue a degree,” said Rowan President Dr. Frederick Keating.

The annual VIQTORY list, viewable at MilitaryFriendly.com, is based on substantial research that uses public data sources, as well as input from different student veterans and their survey responses. Schools are rated on their ability to meet thresholds for student retention, graduation, career placement, loan repayment, degree advancement and loan default rates specifically for student veterans.

Veterans at Rowan have the option to receive Military Education Benefits determined by the Department of Veterans Affairs. They are available based on the student’s active- duty status or length of service.

“RCSJ’s Military services staff are always ready to help student veterans figure out how to get the most out of their educational benefits,” said Laura Easter, school certifying official.

Staff members at Rowan also offer student veterans support, health care and mental-health service providers to better support them and make sure they thrive educationally.

Founded in 2001, ViQTORY connects veterans, their spouses and other family members with job opportunities and other community resources to transition from military life and into non-military jobs.

“Throughout its 50-plus-year history, RCSJ has been dedicated to helping veterans succeed within their chosen civilian career field,” Easter told the Sun.

“RCSJ’s relationship with VIQTORY and the military friendly team will continue to grow as both organizations continue to provide veterans and their family members with a multitude of support and resources.” “Rowan College of South Jersey is looking forward to continuing this relationship with VIQTORY as a Military Friendly School,” she added.
