County interested in portion of Bancroft
The public sale of the Bancroft property has sparked the interest of the county.
County officials are planning to purchase a 13-acre portion of the Bancroft property, adding to the adjacent county park.
The borough made an announcement on July 18 that the Camden County Open Space Advisory Committee received an application from the New Jersey Conservation Foundation for funding to purchase a portion of the property.
The county authorized two appraisals, which would be completed by September. The county and Bancroft must agree on a sale price before entering a discussion with borough officials, borough administrator Sharon McCullough said in a news release.
“Once more details are known about this application, we will hold a public meeting to discuss the facts and our opinions moving forward,” Mayor Jeff Kasko said. “We look forward to hearing from county officials when they are further along in their process.”
