Camden County Health Department visits Eastern Regional High School to vaccinate community

The free vaccine clinic will be open to walk-up patients in the community beginning at 8 a.m. The clinic will be providing Pfizer to capture more than 500 students and children who are 12 and older.

The Camden County Health Department, in partnership with the Rutgers School of Nursing, and Cooper University Health Care will be operating a pop-up vaccination clinic for students, staff and residents at Eastern Regional High School in Voorhees on May 25. The free vaccine clinic will be open to walk-up patients in the community beginning at 8 a.m. The clinic will be providing Pfizer to capture more than 500 students and children who are 12 and older.

Commissioner Al Dyer talked about the importance of getting the vaccine into students so schools can successfully open next fall.

“While we watch case counts continue to drop and our vaccination rates continue to climb the effectiveness of this shot is clear,” Dyer said. “This tool is the most important weapon we have to fight against this insidious virus and gives us the means to protect our families against it. Furthermore, the sooner we can get to herd immunity the sooner we can get back to a post-pandemic world.”

At this time, more than 263,000 adult residents have gotten at least one dose of a COVID vaccine in Camden County. This is more than 66 percent of the total adult population.
