The Animal Welfare Association is bringing its Vets on Wheels mobile clinic back to Camden City this week. From 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Wednesday, May 19, the clinic will offer free, on-site vaccinations and pet food to pet owners at Von Nieda Park.
The Vets on Wheels program, supported by the Camden County Board of County Commissioners, works in under-served communities to deliver a variety of pet care outreach services to residents. These events are open to all city residents.
“By bringing these services directly into the community, the AWA is helping pet owners to care for their animals while also minimizing the spread of canine and feline disease and illness,” said County Commissioner Jonathan Young. “Services available at the clinic, as noted, are completely free of charge and can be completed right on site. Even relatively minor procedures can go a long way to keeping your pet healthy and happy.”
Pet owners in areas served by the Vets on Wheels program traditionally lack regular access to veterinary services and may struggle to secure transportation to far-away clinics. The mobile clinic brings these services into the neighborhood at a convenient location.
The following services will be available at no cost to pet owners when the clinic visits Camden:
- Basic veterinary exam
- Rabies vaccination
- Distemper vaccination
- Deworming
- Bordetella vaccination
- Flea & tick preventative
- Dog and cat food
- Microchip check
- Microchipping
