CamCo logs 792 additional cases between 4/2 and 4/5

"We are now averaging more cases per day than we have since February 2,” said County Commissioner Director Louis Cappelli, Jr.

 

The Camden County Department of Health is announcing 792 additional confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) confirmed between Friday, April 2, and Monday, April 5. This brings the aggregate number of confirmed positive cases to 44,101 in Camden County today and 1,129 total fatalities.

“Over the past seven days, the average number of new cases has jumped from roughly 140 to 187. We are now averaging more cases per day than we have since February 2,” said County Commissioner Director Louis Cappelli, Jr. “The good news is that thanks to our vaccination efforts, our most vulnerable populations should be experiencing far more protection than before. However, this does not mean that the pandemic no longer poses a threat. We must continue to wear masks, social distance, and practice caution until vaccinations are more widespread and more of our community is protected from severe illness.”

The Department of Health is announcing 792 additional positive cases of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) identified in Camden County. Trace investigations are being facilitated with the patients and remain ongoing.

To date, 281,474 COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered in Camden County. There are 177,137 people with at least one vaccine dose, and 112,427 people who are fully vaccinated.

In addition, the county Department of Health is also announcing 2,330 confirmed resident cases and 1,344 staff cases have occurred out of the aggregate case load of 44,101 in our 56 long-term care facilities. At this time, 461 resident deaths have been reported from these facilities, as well as seven staff deaths, out of our 1,129 total fatalities countywide.

The county Health Department is currently working to trace close contacts of these newest cases. The investigations are still ongoing, and we will update the public with new developments as the information is gathered by our investigators.
