CamCo reports only 67 new cases

Widespread vaccinations may start to have effect on daily reportage.

The Camden County Department of Health announced Thursday 67 additional confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in Camden County. This brings the aggregate number of confirmed positive cases to 38,985 in Camden County today and 1,036 total fatalities.

“With nearly 100,000 vaccinations administered throughout Camden County, we are steadily achieving a safer, more protected community,” said County Commissioner Director Louis Cappelli, Jr.

“We still have a long way to go before we are able to safely consider COVID-19 a dormant threat, but we are no doubt in a better place than we were just a few short months ago. If we continue to wear masks, social distance, and work with contact tracers, we can keep our cases down and protect those around us.”

Trace investigations are being facilitated with the patients and remain ongoing.

In addition, the county Department of Health is also announcing 2,304 confirmed resident cases and 1,309 staff cases have occurred out of the aggregate case load of 38,985 in our 56 long-term care facilities. At this time, 459 resident deaths have been reported from these facilities, as well as seven staff deaths, out of our 1,036 total fatalities countywide.
