Reviewing ‘The Hundred-Foot Journey’

The Hundred-Foot Journey

Drama

Carol: Worth the Matinee Price

Have you seen the trailer? Well, that’s too bad because often a really good, enjoyable film is made less by simply seeing too much of it before you get to the theater. That is the case with this movie. That being said, I simply loved it (disappointed as I was that there were no surprises). “Disneyesque”? Well, they did produce it. Enjoyable a la Disney? Absolutely. The cast, lead by Helen Mirren, is wonderful; my favorite character was Papa, played by the oh so popular (in India) Om Puri.

Phil: Wait for the Video

A feel good movie about differences and romance. Reminds me of real whip cream…..delicious, but nothing of substance. A movie you can see on TV, with nothing lost.
