In a recent communication from Gloucester Township Public Schools, Superintendent John Bilodeau notified parents, guardians and staff members that the district is currently preparing for a potential shift from hybrid learning to full remote learning.
Bilodeau cited rising positive COVID-19 cases across Camden County and New Jersey as worrisome factors that could potentially contribute to the disruption of the district’s current operations.
“I have emphasized that school operations for in-person instruction will follow the science of this pandemic and the guidelines established by the New Jersey Department of Health,” said Bilodeau, in the communication. “Accordingly, the basis of this message is to advise you, if you have not done so already, to begin planning for a scenario which has all students in the district shifting instruction from a hybrid schedule to a fully remote schedule as a result of the dramatic increase in COVID-19 transmission rates. The health and safety of all students and staff must be the paramount factor in making decisions regarding school operations.”
The district’s next scheduled board of education meeting is Monday, Nov. 23 starting at 7 p.m. at Ann A. Mullen Middle School.
