On Sunday, Seneca High school announced an individual at the school tested positive for COVID-19. This individual has not been in school in over a week. The Lenape Regional High School District is coordinating closely with public health officials and following Centers for Disease Control and Protection, state, and local health department guidance in order to assure the health and safety of our community. At the recommendation of the Burlington County Health Department, Seneca will remain open.
Contact tracing is complete and no close contacts — defined as someone within 6 feet of a person who is infected with COVID-19 for 15 minutes or more within a 24-hour period — have been identified.
This case is the fourth at Seneca during the 2019-20 school year. Previous cases were announced on Oct. 31, Oct. 16 and Oct. 18.
Seneca staff appreciates the community’s support and cooperation. You can assist the school by remaining vigilant but sensible in your approach to dealing with this health concern. Any student or staff member who is getting tested should let the school nurse know and remain home from school and all school activities until a negative test result has been provided to the school nurse.
