The Camden County Department of Health (DOH) recorded three new deaths caused by novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in Camden County, as well as 54 additional cases of the disease on Thursday. “Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their families today as we learn of three more Camden County residents lost to coronavirus,” said Freeholder Director Louis Cappelli, Jr.

“We are seeing spiking cases not only at home but across the country and other parts of the world. Public health experts have linked the rise at least in part to the increasing number of small gatherings indoors. I know it is not easy to go without seeing friends and family for extended periods of time, but we have to do everything we can to stop the spread of COVID-19. Please continue to wear a mask, social distance, and take all necessary steps to minimize the chance that you could spread or contract this virus.”

Trace investigations are being facilitated with the patients and remain ongoing.

In addition, the county Department of Health is also announcing 1,516 confirmed resident cases and 627 staff cases have occurred out of the aggregate case load of 11,413 in our 56 long-term care facilities. At this time, 332 resident deaths have been reported from these facilities, as well as three staff deaths, out of our 562 total fatalities countywide.
