Palmyra’s first Build A Scarecrow Contest will be held in October. There will be prizes for the top three most creative scarecrows on Broad Street.

To take part, complete a digital entry form at www.palmyrahalloweenparade.com. Participants will receive a light pole location on Broad Street and direction the scarecrow must face. There is no limit to the number of team members, and teams can register for more than one pole.

Build the scarecrow from scratch and set it up by 8 p.m. on Oct. 18 (rain date Oct. 25). All scarecrows and props must be removed on Nov. 7 or by 8 p.m. on Nov. 8 (rain dates Nov. 14 and 15). Props are optional.

Winners will be announced on Oct. 30 at www.palmyrahalloweenparade.com and on Facebook @palmyrahalloweenparade.
