Haddonfield’s Crows Woods Gardeners launch annual sign up

Haddonfield’s Crows Woods Gardeners have launched their annual sign-up for 2015 garden plots in the town’s Crows Woods complex.

Dues for first-year gardeners are $40 for half of a 20-by-20-foot plot. For all other gardeners, after the first year, annual dues are $20 per plot. Plots are open to Haddonfield residents of all ages.

Applications are available on the Crows Woods Gardeners web site at www.crowswoodsgardeners.com. Deadline for applications is March 1 with plots assigned on a first-come-first-served basis, said garden president, Paul Schmeck.

“After two years of expanding the gardens,” said Schmeck, “we can now accommodate as many as 110 gardeners.”

At the peak of the summer growing season, a team of Crows Woods gardeners now collects and delivers extra produce to the Cherry Hill Food Bank.
